Mondays Challenge

I am still playing around with my papers from Simon Says Monthly box. I enjoy challenges and bringing different challenges together to make a card. Simon Says Monday challenge was Monochrome, thus the color theme. Surprisingly, another Monday Challenge is also Monochrome and this one is Crafty Cardmaker's. Mojo's challenge was this layout and Bitten by the Bug's challenge was Graduation or thank you cards. I think it all went together so well. I did the banner in a gradient of watercolor on arches.

Get Well and Homework

This was my first homework assignment. We had to create shapes on a piece of paper and paint within the shape using different colors. I have a friend who is not well and I felt this card would brighten his spirits.

Classes

Wish Challenge

Today I created this canvas for the Wish Challenge @ Simon Says Blog. I chose stars and the word hope because as a child when I wanted to make a wish I looked to the night sky and said "I wish I may, I wish I might have this wish I wish tonight." Then I would hope and pray it was answered.

To create this I started on a 5x7" board and covered the wood with white heavy acrylic paint. I then took thickening paste and created texture and stars. I then took some words pasted it to the board and added washi tape over it. I then took acrylic paint in platho and other blues plus a water color ink and splashed the canvas with color. Once dry I added mica silver, and stamps including one I got in my monthly kit from Simon Says. I then painted the large star plus added silver embellishments.

In the Beginning...

Well this is my new home for my paper crafts. This will operate as a journal. I have been painting for years in just about every medium out there. Grant you, new mediums are developed often. I have painted canvasses upon canvasses but recently came across something which has captured my interest to a high degree and that is cards and mixed media. So who knows what my creative mind will come up with.
