School Days

Hi
Here is another card but today's card is for those heading back to school. Our children go back on Tuesday of next week. I made this using throwdown's color palette of the week. I have been following AmyR's great tutorials and have picked up some fabulous techniques. It is thanks to her for the coloring of the background of the center panel. I used watercolor markers on strathmore and I just happened to find a piece with holes for binding which to me resembles note paper. I hope you like!

Floral Thank You

Hi!
I followed an example of a card to come up with my design. I did not have color bursts so instead I used watercolor markers. Funny, I have those same colors on order in color burst but of course they are not in yet. I heat embossed the flower and the sentiment and stamped the hearts with staz on. I had a pice of black sparkle paper so I added a strip of that. To match the color I used a floral patterned paper. This was created for a challenge by Muse.

When I saw her card I thought of a loving sentiment in which she was sending love. So I did something similar but thought of saying Thank you along with the love.

Browns

Due to the fact I had to get batteries for my camera I am behind times. This card was made yesterday. I like earthy colors but then I like nature also. This card contains many neutrals including grey but is mostly brown. I like how the different patterns blended together nicely. I am not certain where I got the flower stamps.

I had to keep the image quite dark so that all the patterns would show. The inside is below.

Lemons

If life gives you lemons...make lemonade, is a popular quote...and Lemons is what this card is all about. I followed a challenge for the colors and as I contemplated them I could see fruit. Thus the reason for the card.
Now, everything you see I made including the fruit slices and the glass and straw and even the paper. How? By using my painters program psp. I started using psp in 2002. I learned everything possible about creating digitally. I am also an artist so creativity comes naturally.

This card is also interactive. The pink fruit slice moves to reveal the saying underneath. The second photo shows this best.

The challenge I entered this card in is Color Throwdown.

Christmas CAS

This is today's Christmas card. I will be doing several sales this fall so I know I will need many Christmas Cards. This card is definately cas. Many like simple designs and this is one of my fav's. I followed a sketch by The Paper Players and worked it out with my dies.

White Leaves

Today's card is totally created with dies. Not only are flowers beautiful but so are the little gifts nature provides including shapes of leaves and much in nature. My garden is designed so that different flowers are in bloom at different times but I also designed the garden according to leaf shapes. I hope you like this card as much as I do. What inspired me were bowls. At Splitcoaststampers the Saturday challenge was to be inspired by a bowl or two from this Pinterest Site. The bowls that inspired me were this one and this one.

The inside is quite simple so that different sayings can be added. This card could be used for a multiple of occasions.

Fashionista Femme

Hi!
This card was fun to create! I cannot say how much I enjoy creating cards especially when there is a challenge to be met. I wanted this card to speak of the female language. I wanted it to be fancy yet sophisticated and classy. I always enjoy putting pink and soft blue together because it reminds me of the 1950s. Which provides me with images of Sophia Lauren and other actresses of that time period. Now the dress is much prettier in reality. It sparkles of gold lambe. I wish glitter would show better when captured in photography or in a scan. Oh and the stamped words are indeed pink why they show as purple, I haven't a clue.

Now for the challenges I entered. CD Challenge gave me the idea for the dress. Avenue 613 gave me what I wanted to add by following their create your own challenge.

Watercolor

I really like how this watercolor card turned out. I did not use stamps. What I did do was draw the design on Strathmore paper, then proceeded to paint it with windsor newton water color paints.

I created this painting last night then noticed that "The Paper Players" are requesting watercolor cards for their challenge, thus I entered it.

dream

Hi
This card was something I created after watching a youtube tutorial. I do like how it turned out but adding the glitter was fun. This was actually my second attempt and I added the glue for the sparkle by using a toothpick.

I entered this card into the challenge by Crazy 4 Challenges which was a sketch challenge..

Urban Chic

This card was fun to create! Instead  of using stamps I decided to create the city from card stock. I just drew the buildings and then cut them out. The word is stamped on textured pink paper. This is totally created with inks and card stock. I wanted a cas but wanted it in color. I do believe I accomplished that.

This was created for my favorite cas weekly challenge called Cas(e) this Sketch and
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge which was "Create a Scene".

Doggy Surprise

I created this card last night while trying to keep my mind off of the heat. It is far too warm. I really liked some challenges that came by recently and they inspired the design of this card.

The Challenges I Entered with this card are:

Freshly Made Sketches - the sketch layout

Stamping Royalty - the colors

Paper Craft Crew - tic, tac, toe I chose diagonal die cuts, animal and pastel

Missing You

Hi
Today's card is titled "Missing You". I created this with mixed mediums. I started by creating a circle cut out as a stencil. I filled it with Liquitex modeling paste and allowed it to dry. I then began painting using the darkest colors along the bottom going up to the center and repeated this starting at the top going down to the center creating a double gradient. Then Iproceeded to finish the painting by adding stars and the colorful circles. I took another piece of watercolor paper and threw down color blending it. Once dry I stamped the birds using Stamplorations "Trendy Birds". Cut them out. Then using acrylic paint instead of ink I stamped one leaf on the painting and one leaf on blank watercolor paper. The leaf stamps are also from Stamplorations called "Trendy Leaves".

The challenge I decided to enter this card into is Stamplorations "Theme and Sketch" also their "Never Ending Challenge".

Oh one last thing, for the "Themes and Sketch" Challenge I followed the sketch, and theme which is stars and stamps.

Coffee

This friendship card was created with love. I love coffee :) I used watercolor and rather than be perfect with my painting, which I can, I chose to just be creative and artsy by splashing color and allowing color to seep into one another which gives the cups a bit of a reflection from the cup next to it. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches which I really liked. The colors chosen came from a challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The stamp is from Stamplorations and the cardstock is from Recollections. The watercolor paper is Strathmore and the paints are windsor newton.

Today I decided to create a cas..clean and simple. I really like these colors, they are my favorite. I created the card from textured card stock then I watercolored a 2" square and added a simple white cupcake. I then cut a 1 1/2" circle. Then embellished it with ribbon, pearls and a flower.

I created this card for CAS(E) this Sketch.

First Journal Page

Hi
This is my first journal page. I racked my brain trying to figure out what mixed media truly is. As my husband is an artist he kept saying it was a mix of mediums. I then went to youtube and looked there at paper crafts mixed media and wow did I come away with a different thought of what mixed media is in the paper world. It even encouraged me to start a journal. So I created my first journal page. I drew everything. I am so looking forward to my shipment of stamps and stencils from Stamplorations so that as the month progresses hopefully so will my work. :) I did happen to have one stencil from a floral stamp set. Which I used. How I used this stencil was to apply acrylic paint very thickly through the stencil. I do like how this turned out but am looking forward to improving and what better way than using a journal tosee the progress. I decided to make my own book by creating pages and adding them to a book folder which I made.

Mixed Media - Time Changes

Hi
This is a mixed media I did today following a couple of challenges. To create this I used water color, acrylics, pan pastels, a leaf stencil,a bit of elements, stamps, ink and a leaf cutout. Following Take a Word, I received the theme which was "Time". The Stamplorations Mixed Media Challenge this month is to use a stencil.

Sunday - Stamp Kissing

Hi
Each day I try to add something different so I have a list of techniques for each day of the week. Today I found a great blog for stamping called "Happy Little Stampers". Each month they give info on a different technique and a challenge to go with it. Today's technique was called "Kissing". This is where you merge two stamps together to create a pattern within a stamp. You can also use embossing folders or die cuts to create the pattern. I used a heart stamp with a doily edging stamp over it. This stamp is also stamped along the bottom of the card. I followed somewhat a mix of two designers Linda and Chrissie.

I am going to try this again before the month is out because I do like it.

Lady Liberty

Hi
I was so inspired by a bible quote that I had to use it to create today's card. I want to Thank Karen for inviting me to join in the fun at Word Art Wednesdays. I chose to create this card using the Statue of Liberty for a few reasons. The Statue of Liberty has stood for freedom for 100s of years and the quote to me is regarding freedom. My interpretation of the quote is Wherever we may be God is there so feel free and bask in his love. I have fun creating these roses, none are the same but then roses seldom are. This is a double easel card.

Just Believe

Hi!
Tuesday's card is a continuation of the vintage theme..but this time with a difference. So many people doubt themselves and their abilities. Yet, if they just believed then doors would open. I thought this little girl would be perfect for the theme, "I Can Fly" with her wings and then the addition of a butterfly. Tuesday's sketch fit this card well. Thanks for the inspiration.

From Our Home

Hi
Today, Monday, the card I chose to make is a vintage card with lots of inking and distress. I titled it "From Our Home". The way in which I came to creating this card was from 3 different challenges. Thanks to Monday Mojo I had a layout. Thanks to Simon Says I had the idea of adding stamping, cardboard and washi tape. Now using those three products I knew I wanted vintage. Yet thanks to the third source I knew it had to be about a home because at Take A Word the word this week was home. I am very happy with the way this turned out. Now if your wondering what I stamped, well I stamped the cardboard with paint, the houses and the saying. I then painted the houses in.

Bee Awesome!

Hi!
Today is a nice bright card called Bee Awesome. The inspiration for this card came from three sources. I used the color challenge to inspire the color and theme. With the colors being black, yellow and green I knew I wanted flowers and maybe a bee. With the layout from the sketch the design quickly came together..and adding the piercing again reminded me of a bee. So to me this card fits all three challenges and I must say a great thank you to all coordinators of the challenges.."Thank You!"

thanx

Hi
Today's card is created as a CAS which is Clean and Simple..and generally this means keep it simple with plenty of clean space. Well as you can see this card is white with just a small tag that is embellished. Yet what embellishment I add to these types of cards are generally very bright.

I followed a sketch by Cas(e) This Sketch.

Smokin

This card was created for my husband. No, not for Father's Day but for his Birthday. His Birthday is on the 29th. He was out this evening at a meeting so I snuck in time to make the card. Luckily he does not look on this blog unless I point something out to him. Oh and for his Birthday I bought him a bbq, thus the theme.

I really liked the sketch by Sketch File so it was this sketch that gave me the rest of the inspiration for this card.

Challenges:

Praying

This card came about from the cute image that I carefully colored. I followed several challenges to design the card. I really appreciate the inspiration offered through these challenges. I make cards to donate to the church for them to give out. They not only send Birthday cards to every member but they often require prayer and get well cards. I followed Tuesday Morning Sketches for the design. I followed TiddlyInks for the image, flowers and button. I followed City Crafters for the color which this week was "White and Bright".

Introduction to my Digis

Hi!

I want to share with you Kosy Paper Creations Digis. The girl and firecracker are from my digital images..and a collection called July 4th Sweet Summer. The card was created for Simon Says Patterned Paper Monday Challenge.

I have been drawing for years and every time I drew something I would triple line it and then chose the best lines to use for my finished project. I feel it gives an edgy art appearance.

This card was fun to do up.
